Dave has been an independent insurance agent for 20+ years.
Dave represents quality insurance carriers. Starting with Mutual of Omaha in 1999, he learned life and health and in 2004 expanded the agency - adding agents and becoming a full service shop with commercial and home and auto coverage.
He has a passion for helping people, working to design effective coverage for families and businesses. As a survivor of 25 years in the restaurant and hotel industry and business owner, Dave brings a bottom line perspective to the table.
An active volunteer, he has served as the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of Mountain BizWorks, is the treasurer for the Asheville Business Achievers Association and an Ambassador for the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce. Dave was recognized by the Chamber as "Volunteer of the Year" in 2004 and "Over the Top" Customer Service award in 2010.
An avid beach lover, Dave grew up Tampa, Florida and enjoys traveling, unique restaurants, the Grateful Dead, history and great times with Jan Trout, his love of 40 years. (Wow!) Since 2014, he has loved becoming a grandfather to Ben and Julie Musial.

Trout Insurance is the very best— seriously, look no further! Dave Trout has been exceedingly helpful.
