"Not Obamacare 2019"
We can combine a " Short Term Medical " with an Accident Supplemental. We call this " Not ObamaCare "
1. Accident Supplemental - from Cigna. You set an annual benefit amount payable for covered medical expenses due to an injury or accident.
We have a variety of benefits and deductible - the most cost effective option is a $10,000 benefit with a $250 deductible - $ 39.23 monthly premium.
2. Short Term Medical -- These plans stand outside the new requirements of the ACA. You must answer health questions and coverage may be declined. Pre-existing conditions - any treatments, diagnosis - within the last 12 months are not covered. But if neither of these apply - good potential savings.
3. Individual Mandate - i.e. Tax penalty for not having health insurance. Neither of these plans meet the requirements for coverage under the ACA. So you may be subject to additional federal income tax when you file in 2017. -

Combining the Accident and Short Term plans limits your out of pocket costs to some $250 and you would have the equivalent high deductible of an ObamaCare plan if you would have an illness.
