Ladies and Gentlemen,
Having met David Trout in high school, when we both lived in Tampa Bay, I was pleased to meet with him for lunch after so many years to catch up on old times and the people we both know. During our meeting I mentioned to him how hard it seems for a business owner with a family to cover all the bases necessary with proper insurance. I remember telling him how I often feel like I’m in a boat with a million holes trying to plug them all with chewing gum!
Knowing that people my age are around three times more likely to be the victim of disability or catastrophic illness than they are to die or be killed, I mentioned to him that with the responsibilities I have to the staff, family and lenders, I felt a bit vulnerable in that area. I had lots of life insurance, but as the sole breadwinner of the family, our modest wealth and the lifestyle of our entire family could be at risk if I became disabled! Worse yet, my condition might create a financial burden on them all.
David understood where I was coming from and suggested that he could offer me a policy that would cover
the costs of operating the business for up to 18 months if I became disabled. This would at least allow my
wife time to figure out if I would be coming back to work or whether she needed to sell the business. David
also suggested he could offer a catastrophic illness policy that would pay if I got cancer or had a heart
attack. I signed up for both.
Wouldn’t you know it, about 12 months after purchasing these policies, I HAD A HEART ATTACK at just 52
years old! I remember spouting off instructions to my wife as they were wheeling me off to the operating
room with tears in my eyes, not knowing if I’d die on the operating table or have the massive stroke the
doctors warned me of as being a possibility. “April has the trusts and the insurance policies, sell everything,
you don’t need the stress . . . and . . . I love you.”
Well, obviously, I lived to tell about it! But I want you to know how great it was to get the money from Mutual
of Omaha for the catastrophic illness claim. I wasn’t so great that I would recommend having a heart attack
over it, but nonetheless, it was great!
I sincerely believe that those of you who own your own business, have a family and some debt take a long
hard look at filling such voids in their insurance coverage with policies similar to the ones I purchased from
Dave.
One last thing; I want you to know that David was in regular contact with Mutual of Omaha headquarters
throughout the claims process. He worked as my liaison throughout the process in order to be sure that the
claim was processed as expeditiously as possible. He’s a fine man who knows his business and takes his
responsibilities very seriously.
Thank You.

As Open Enrollment for Health Insurance via the Affordable Care Act / ObamaCare started this Saturday, I knew it was time to take the plunge and get onboard. But this was new and uncharted territory for me and frankly a confusing situation. Is it a website? Or insurance? What about the tax credits and how does the premium discount work with my income? I had a lot of questions. So I called my agent Dave Trout. Since we had worked together since 2009 I knew he could help me
Dave suggested we get together on Saturday, the first day Healthcare.gov opened up. Would it be a train wreck like last year? Dave assured me everything was working well, and he should know. He’s appointed with all the insurance companies, certified by the Marketplace and helped over 400 people last year.
The good news? Everything worked! I now have a plan to meet my needs at a premium to fit my budget. With Dave’s help, I now have a good understanding of how the Marketplace works and am better informed about my premium discount tax credits. It’s so refreshing to have Dave as my agent and know that he and his team will be there whenever I need them.
If you need help with the ACA / ObamaCare, I highly recommend you give Dave a call.
I know I’m glad I did when I began my own business, 12Twelve Marketing. After being on the pay role of a major advertising agency for 18 years, which included health benefits, I was very concerned about finding health insurance that would provide me the coverage I needed and a policy I could afford. I asked around for recommendations and the same name came up repeatedly–Trout Insurance.
Everyone I spoke with told me how great it is to work with them, so I wasted no time in setting up a meeting. I met with Jan and Dave Trout at a coffee shop. I explained nervously how I didn’t have a clue where to find good, affordable health care. They listened patiently and then explained to me how the industry works, how many options there were to choose from, and how to narrow down the best policy for me.
With their help, support and care, I was soon enrolled with a policy that fit my needs and my budget. Fast forward five years and my company, and thankfully my health, are doing fine. I’m sure this is in part to not having to stress out about my insurance needs. I am well taken care of with the team at Trout Insurance. They’re available if I ever have questions and are pro-active to any changes that might occur.
Thank goodness I found Trout Insurance as I was embarking on my new career! Dave Trout and his team are trusted agents who look out for their customers, are professional and prompt, and are all-around good people!
Thank you Trout Insurance for all you do!

Lara Vernon, REV Motorcars
I am a life-long car fanatic. I love the enthusiasm, joy and excitement that a great car can bring into someone's life. That's why I opened REV Motorcars earlier this year.
After running into some difficulties with several insurance agencies, I called Dave Trout and Butch Greene at Trout Insurance. They did a super job with my coverages providing me the protection and bond necessary to start my business. And the premium saving Butch obtained was greater than the actual cost of the new policy.
Need a Great Car - Call Me. Need great Insurance - Call Trout.
